This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of different levels
of animal manure on growth, yield components, and grain yield of
the wheat variety Chonte under the agro-climatic conditions of
Baghlan Province. The experiment was carried out at the research
farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Baghlan University, during the
2021–2022 growing season. The study was arranged in a
Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications.
The treatments consisted of four levels of sheep manure: 0, 3, 6,
and 9 t ha⁻¹. Data collected from various plant traits were
statistically analyzed using SPSS software. The results indicated that
the application of animal manure had a significant effect on most of
the studied traits. Manure application increased the number of
stems per square meter, number of tillers per plant, number of
spikes per square meter, number of grains per spike, and thousand
grain weight compared with the control treatment. Among the
different manure levels, the application of 6 t ha⁻¹ showed superior
performance for most growth parameters, yield components, and
final grain yield. The highest grain yield was obtained from the 6 t
ha⁻¹ treatment, whereas the control treatment produced the lowest
yield.
