The purpose of writing this scientific article is to accurately
identify the factors influencing the weathering of rocks. The
findings of this research show that weathering is one of the
most essential and important geological processes that play a
key role in rock transformation and degradation. According
to climate studies, chemical weathering dominates in warm
and humid areas, while physical weathering occurs more in
cold and dry regions. The key factors affecting rock
weathering include: rock type, climatic conditions, moisture
level, ambient temperature, presence of organic matter, and
dissolved chemical compounds-all of which are among the
most important parameters determining the intensity and
type of weathering. In addition, the resistance of the
minerals that make up the rock and their internal structure
against decomposition plays an important role in this
process. Better understanding of these factors can be widely
applied in natural resource management, preservation of
stone structures, and geological change analysis
